I think that he is right because he is saying that you should always stand up to what you believe is right  and don’t let other influence you to do the right thing. For example if I don’t like to bully people and other kids tell me if I bully then I will be cool but I think that is not right to do that then I say I’m not going to do it then I’m standing up alone.
