STUDENT SUCCESS STATEMENT
“I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong.”
Abraham Lincoln

I think that he is trying to say that you always have to be with a person that always chooses the right thing but when he is choosing the wrong you have to get away from him. For example if my friend is choosing the right thing to do but then starts to choose the wrong then I should get away from her.

April fool’s day

2.   What is the purpose of April fool’s day?  April  fools stands out as the only holiday that celebrates foolishness
3.   What are a few theories behind April fool’s day? Some believe the first association between April 1 and playing tricks can be found in Geoffrey Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales from 1392. In “The Nun’s Priest’s Tale,” a fox tricks proud rooster Chanticleer on sync March began thritty days and two. Although Chaucer probably meant 32 days after March (May 2), many readers apparently misunderstood the line to mean March 32 — or April 1.
4.   What a few pros and cons of April fool’s day? Some pros are that you can prank people and cons are that maybe you can get hurt if the prank is bad.

“Character is higher than intellect.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

I think he is right because yes I think that if you have intellect but no character you are not going to get no were in life for example if you go in a job and you are very good at it but you don't have good personality then they would not hire you because the customers would not like you .so I think that in order for you to be successful in life you have to have both of this things character and intellect.

How do flowers get their color?
Flowers that are bright in color are meant to attract birds, bees and other insects in order to help the plants reproduce. Bright colors or dull colors are fixed in the genetics of a flower. If a plant needs to reproduce with the help of the birds and the bees – the genetics will make the flowers have bright colors to attract the animals (think putting on makeup and doing hair to attract a mate). In addition, if the pollination and reproduction are made this way, the fruits of the plant will be sweet and pleasant tasting. If reproduction through pollination is done by way of wind and air – the pigments of the plant will be inconspicuous and dull with bad tasting fruit. If the plant calls for pollination, the bright flower and sweet pollen will coax birds, bees and insects to land on it. As these animals eat the sugar or honey, some of the pollen with sticks to their feet. When they land on another flower some of that pollen will spread and voila! Pollination occurs. If a flower’s anthocyanin’s did not position the genetic groundwork for brightly colored plants then none of this would be possible.

“Great beauty, great strength, and great riches are really and truly of no great use; a right heart exceeds all.”
-Benjamin franklin

I think he is right because if you have great beauty and not a good heart then you would not be liked and you would not choose the right. If you have great strength and no good heart then that would not matter. If the people are rich but again they don’t have a good heart then maybe we could say they have done bad things to get all the money. So the point is if you have a good heart then you don’t need beauty, strength, and riches to be happy in your life.
